Last week our washing machine started making really loud noises when shifting cycles. We called a repairman and he told us it wouldn’t make sense for us to have him repair it. We need to buy a new one but can use the loud one for now.
Yesterday, my wife and daughter were getting ready to go shopping. I was taking a break from yard work. My wife asked me to get something from the basement, I hit a wet spot on the carpet at the bottom of the stairs and found more water in the unfinished portion. The AC was leaking.
Instead of doing what we planned, we spent time moving things out of the wet space and using the shop vac to suck up the water. Luckily, it was a small area of water and nothing important was damaged. We have a contract with an HVAC place so we were about to get the AC drain cleaned out to stop the leak, but they tell us the AC is very old and we should replace it. They’ve told us that each year for a while now.
I fly to Kentucky tomorrow. My daughter flies to Rome tomorrow. Hopefully, we are past the “things not going as planned” portion of our lives.
Ugh. Maybe it’s time to bite the bullet and replace the AC?

Most likely. Just not great that it comes at the same time as the washer

One positive is that you’re not attempting to fly from the UK. It’s total & utter chaos at the moment here, with everyone pointing the finger at one another in terms of blame. Enjoy Kentucky & I hope your daughter loves Rome.
