I was looking at insights on my stats and was wondering what people read when I first started posting, Here’s one from way back in 2008. Since then I’ve been at one conference where in a speech about an award winner they said “I think he touched everyone in this room” and I thought “I’m pretty sure that goes against the conference code of conduct”
The next two short paragraphs are what constituted a post from me back then
Just a short note about a reminder I had this weekend of why words matter and the importance of using terminology people outside your “business” understand.
My pastor commented in his sermon on our mission to touch the community. I work with the youth group. I’m not sure it is a good idea for me to talk about touching the people I work with. I can’t tell parents I want to touch their children. I’m sure the church can think of a better way to express this mission.
Uh, yeah. John teaches special training for anyone who works with 0-18 year olds in the Diocese of Washington about NOT touching. Jeez, tell your pastor to get with the program!
