What’s Good in Tater Town 4/23/23

It was a more eventful week this week with volunteer appreciation events at the farm. It was good timing since my wife was out of town again. I had less time at home alone. Let’s find the good.

  1. I went to a lunch and learn on Monday where I learned how to lunge a horse. Luckily, the horse was smarter than me so it almost looked like I knew what I was doing.
  2. The instructor gave me a confidence boost by walking away to talk to the group while I was lunging the horse instead of feeling the need to stand with me to supervise.
  3. The lunch was sandwiches from Panera.
  4. I went back Tuesday afternoon for another lunch and learn on how to describe horse behavior without interpreting it. A. skill needed for equine-assisted psychotherapy. We had pizza while observing the horses.
  5. My daughter didn’t have to go to in-person class this week and my son is still staying here right now, so I had a couple of nights with them both here for dinner.
  6. More free coffee mornings at Panera.
  7. A neighbor loaned me his lawn mower so I could get my yard one before the rain yesterday.
  8. There was a volunteer appreciation party at the farm yesterday. It rained the entire time so it was inside instead of being a field party and not many people showed up, but it was free Mission BBQ and beer and my son got to see the place for the first time.

That’s all for this week. Hope yours was a good one.
