Tater’s Week in Review 2/18/23

I didn’t watch a movie or finish a book this week. That’s two weeks in a row, I need to change that. More on the book thing below.

It was my birthday week but was not much more exciting than any other week. We did go to Red Robin for our free birthday burgers and got the free Firehouse subs last night. The freebies are the most exciting thing about my birthday these days.

I had one really good weather day at the barn and then a rainy barn day to end the week. The rain did mean less activity and getting to leave on time for once, so I had that going for me.

I’ve given up on anything happening with the sub job. I will apply with the public school or other private schools over the summer for the next school year.

We are beginning to plan our trip to Egypt in May. I’m both excited and very anxious about it. I will be stressed until we get on the plane and then all will be well.

TV News and Views

Disney Plus has canceled Big Shot and The Mighty Ducks. They were the only shows that weren’t Marvel or Star Wars that I watched regularly.

The People’s Court and Judge Mathis have been canceled. I guess we need to make room for more celebrity-hosted talk shows on daytime TV.

Blood & Treasure has been canceled at Paramount Plus.

Ryan Seacrest announced he is leaving Live With Kelly and Ryan. He will be replaced by Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos.

We watched the new Joel McHale show, Animal Control. The first episode was good. Joel McHale’s character is a lot like his Community character We loved Community so that is good with me.

Next Level Chef is back. It’s one of the only cooking shows I watch new and not just as a repeat on Food Network to have on in the background while I do other things.

I did not finish a book this week, but I started two more. I am still reading Wayward by Chuck Wendig. I am about 200 pages from the end. I have two book clubs coming up this week so I had to take a break from it to read the books for those.

I am listening to Now Is Not the Time To Panic by Kevin Wilson while I drive and reading Be Free Or Die: The Amazing Story of Robert Smalls’ Escape From Slavery to Union Hero by Cate Lineberry.

I’m not a fan of reading multiple books at once.

On Deck

Magnum PI makes its NBC debut tomorrow night. We are big fans of the show and are happy it is back.

Milo Ventimiglia’s new show The Company You Keep also debuts tomorrow night. It looks like it could be good.

I have both The Woman King and Ticket to Paradise on DVD from the library.

I hope to finish the two book club books before the meetings. I would like to finish them early so I can get back to Wayward.
