My Week in Books, Movies, and TV 12/9/22

I think the only movies I watched this week were Hallmark Christmas movies, so I will skip the movie section this week and go straight to TV.

TV

We watched the finale of Amazing Race last night. It was fun that it ended in Nashville since we have been there and recognized the places they went. This is the first time on a reality show that the team we wanted to win from episode one actually one the entire thing.

Last night’s Survivor was one of the best episodes in a long time. We were sad to see Cody go, but it was a great move. I hope Jesse wins, but I’m sure I can’t have my favorite win in both shows.

We finally watched the final Jodie Whittaker Doctor Who. It was better than I expected given how bad I thought the last few seasons were. It was fun to see former companions return. The ending was great.

I watched the first episode of George and Tammy. I liked it, but I don’t know that my wife who has no clue who they are would have cared.

We have watched a few episodes of Wednesday on Netflix. I like it a lot and would watch it faster if I could stay awake longer.

Books

I finished one book this week.

Happy Go Lucky by David Sedaris – a collection of personal essays on a variety of topics.

I listened to the audio of this for the book club. It was the first I have read by Sedaris and I didn’t know what to expect. I loved it. I was laughing out loud in the car while listening. I could relate to some of his experiences, but even when I couldn’t he still made me laugh. I might look for more audio from him for my drive to Kentucky.

On Deck

I’m hoping my son eventually brings the DVD of Vengeance back and I can watch it before it goes back to the library.

This is the last week we have to watch our Christmas stuff so we will get started on those this weekend.

The finales of Survivor, White Lotus, and Let the Right One In are all on this week.

I hope to watch the season finale of Reginald the Vampire today or tomorrow.

I am reading Racing the Light by Robert Crais.
