It was another week without finishing a book. Various things happened that caused that. I did watch a movie.
Movies
I watched Life is Beautiful with my daughter Sunday afternoon. She asked me to watch with her while my wife was shopping because I am the one who is willing to watch movies with subtitles. It is one of her favorites. I had never seen it. I loved it. It was such a dark subject for the second half of the movie but done beautifully. I can see why it won awards. I wish I could live life with the attitude of the main character.
TV
We watched the first episode of Succession Wednesday night. I don’t know why I never watched it before. I can tell I’m going to love it. I love seeing Nicholas Braun in it. Back when he was in Disney movies I watched with my kids I knew he had the talent to graduate to more adult fare.
We have been watching the Heroes vs Villains season of Survivor when Paramount Plus decides to work. It is the worst app experience. I think the Survivor people need to go back and watch the classic season like this to remember what the new seasons are missing.
I watched the next to last episode of Walking Dead. If not for the Kentucky/Gonzaga game Sunday night I would watch the final episode live. I know many people gave up on the show over the years, but I stuck with it and hope to be rewarded with a satisfying finale.
Books
I am reading Righteous Prey by John Sandford. He is one of my favorite authors and I like the book, I’ve just not been in the right frame of mind to read a lot this week. I will say though, they thrillers do not need to be 400 pages long.
On Deck
I no longer go into a week expecting to watch a movie, Movies happen or they don’t. It all depends on the mood.
As I mentioned above, the series finale of Walking Dead is n Sunday night. I will watch it Monday afternoon. I might write about it.
I will watch the Macy’s parade this week until my family complains that it is boring and want me to change the channel.
I will also make them watch the WKRP Thanksgiving show.
We will probably also watch the West Wing scene where the president calls the Butterball hotline.
I will keep reading the Sandford book.
Life is beautiful. What a gift that film is

Life Is Beautiful is a wonderful movie! I saw it when it was released in the US (don’t remember whether it was in a theater or on VHS (DVD?). I loved his exuberant response to receiving the Academy Award.
