Last week I stopped to get coffee. On the way out of the shopping center, someone pulled out in front of me without looking or slowing down. I might have reacted poorly in this case because I had reached my breaking point of dealing with drivers like this.
I’ve seen people run red lights multiple times recently.
On my way to book club last week I almost witnessed an accident where someone blew through a stop sign at a four-way stop.
At the four-way stops at this shopping center, one of two things happens: No one goes because the person whose turn it is doesn’t go or someone or multiple someones decide they are going regardless of whose turn it is,
It isn’t uncommon for people to muck up the traffic flow by stopping even though incoming traffic has the right of way and is not supposed to stop.
Half the cars on the road are driving way too fast.
The other half are driving way too slow, usually in the left lane.
I guess the pandemic break in regular driving made people forget how to drive.
Cell phone distraction syndrome. Mostly young females here in Granbury. Starbucks in one hand and the cell of the day in the other typing with her thumb. AS bad as the zombie invasion.

Yeah. Most people driving these days are on their phones at the same time.

I’m glad I don’t drive anything like as much as I used to now that I’ve been working at home for 10+ years. Himself, on the other hand, has a ready supply of horror stories. He also feels it’s gotten worse post-pandemic.

I react badly to poor drivers. They don’t seem to notice. I don’t drive very much these days, thank heavens.

The last guy noticed and took a picture of me as I drove past. Not sure what that did for him.

No, it’s just made drivers worse.

There were articles in the Washington Post during lockdown about how the people who were out were driving much faster. I think those people forget others are out there now while the others lost their driving skills.

I am in Washington State driving in the rain. I don’t like that either.

I think you are correct. During the pandemic, I saw cars running stop signs and traffic lights just because they could. Very few cars and trucks on the road. Some very bad habits were created, and periodically I still see that behavior. Ironic that with a pandemic we have to be most careful when driving.

Yeah. People got used to empty roads and didn’t adjust when they were no longer empty.
