TV is more complicated now that we have a third person living here again. We have to find a new show we all watch.
Movies
We watched one movie this week. Well, my wife and daughter watched Downton Abbey: A New Era. I watched maybe half of it before I was asleep on the couch. From what I saw, it was typical Downton. If you like Downton I assume you would watch this one regardless of the reviews.
TV
I’m still watching 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown every evening with my daughter. There are a lot of seasons, so this might continue for a while. I do need to convince her to watch some of the stuff we have recorded some days to keep the DVR from filling up.
My wife watches NCIS and watched NCIS: New Orleans. I never have, but decided to try NCIS: Hawaii and watch it with her. She decided she didn’t like it. so now I am watching it alone. It is not the best show by any means but fills the Hawaii 5-0 void.
We are watching The Challenge: USA. I read in an exit interview that some peop[e were so angry after being sent to the elimination challenge that they brought in security. I think if they bring in security because they think you might get violent, you should probably be sent home. The angry people will probably win and we will be very disappointed.
I finished the latest season of Never Have I Ever. I still like the show a lot. I’m glad they took a break from the love triangle thing and let the characters grow away from each other. I was surprised by the hints at what the end game might be for the triangle.
I watched the first three episodes of The Peacemaker on HBO Max. I enjoyed it. I always like John Cena and I like the mix of humor and action.
Resident Alien returned this week on Syfy. It is still one of our favorite shows and one that could continue easily even if it was eventually just the alien living in town as the doctor.
Books
I read one book this week.

The Nineties by Chuck Klosterman – Essays from Klosterman on various aspects of the nineties – Clinton, OJ, pop culture, music, movies, etc.
I am a fan of Klosterman, and this is as good as the rest of his work. It was interesting to look back on the last decade before the internet was everywhere. I lived through the nineties and there was information here I had either forgotten or never knew. I kept bothering my family with the facts and opinions I found interesting. I don’t read a lot of non-fiction, but I would recommend anything by Klosterman.
On Deck
We have no movies from the library, so any movie will be something streaming or recorded. Maybe we will finally watch the new Dr. Strange movie.
I will keep catching up on NCIS: Hawaii to make space for new shows on the DVR.
I will continue The Peacemaker.
House of the Dragon starts Sunday night. I am very excited about it. I hope it is as good as the early seasons of Game of Thrones.
I might suggest She-Hulk as our next family show.
I am reading We Are the Brennans by Tracey Lange.
The nineties is on my tbr…I think I’ll get to it eventually 😆agree on Downton…if you like the franchise you’ll like it..otherwise don’t bother

It was interesting reading your post today after being reminded in the Klosterman book of the time before we had the internet at all times,

I know I used to watch the tv news after I got out of the shower, and I read a paper on commute to work, and everything else would be done by phone. Crazy
