I spent the morning doing work at Maryland Therapeutic Riding. It was part of a month-long volunteer initiative I’m doing this month. While there I talked to them about becoming a volunteer and have since filled out the application to do that.
I selected being a side walker with the riders and general horse care as my choices. Most likely I will be shoveling a lot of horse poop.
I’ve been looking for the right fit for volunteering. I think this is it.

I worked at a large boarding stable while in college. Out of all the jobs I have had throughout my life, shovelling horse has honestly been my favourite job. It’s peaceful, the job is complete at the end of the day, your mind relaxes, and you feel physically, not mentally tired when finished.
