Tater on TV: What’s on Tonight 10/13/21

My TV last night turned out to be the Braves game that started at 5:15 and didn’t end until after 9. They really need to find a way to make these games shorter. My team won, though, so I have more baseball viewing in my future.

Here’s tonight’s lineup.

ABC

It’s Wonder Years night. Each sitcom has a throwback to the original show.

8pm – The Goldbergs – Dan Lauria, the dad from Wonder Years, guests as a neighbor selling his house.

8:30pm – The Wonder Years – a version of the original’s theme song will be performed during the show.

9pm – The Conners – Fred Savage guest stars.

9:30pm – Home Economics – Danica McKellar guest stars.

10pm – A Million Little Things

CBS

8pm – Survivor

9pm – Tough as Nails

10pm – CSI: Vegas

CW

8pm – Legends of Tomorrow – season premiere of the best of the DC shows

9pm – Batwoman – season premiere of the worst of the DC shows.

FOX

8pm – The Masked Singer

9pm – Alter Ego

NBC

8pm – Chicago Med

9pm – Chicago Fire

10pm – Chicago PD

Various Non-Streaming Options

BET has Tyler Perry’s Sistas at 9 and two episodes of Twenties at 10.

Bravo has The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills at 8 and 9 followed by The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City at 10.

A new Guy’s Grocery Games is on Food Network at 9.

FX has a new American Horror Story at 10.

HGTV has a new Curb Appeal Xtreme at 8, Houses With History at 9, and House Hunters at 10.

The Sinner is on USA at 9.

Tater’s Thoughts

Sports has put me way behind on shows this season. Ravens game Monday night. Braves game last night. More baseball coming. I will be at a DVR crisis soon. I’m recording a lot and only watching a little.

I will watch Survivor live as usual. I think they are focusing too much on the gimmicky advantages this season and not enough on the cast. I still enjoy the show, but they need to go back to basics instead of constantly trying to add new gimmicks.

We will watch Tough as Nails. I enjoy the challenges and the cast is good this year.

I will watch The Masked Singer tomorrow morning.

I watch all of the ABC sitcoms and I’m still sticking with A Million Little Things for now.

We will eventually watch Chicago Fire.

I have to wait for my daughter to watch Legends of Tomorrow. It’s a fun show. I love their mentions here and there that imply the characters know they are in a TV show.

    1. I think they got rid of the runner on second thing for the postseason and I’ve read it won’t come back. I think one thing they need is a pitch clock. Too many pitchers stand on the mound forever between pitches. There’s no need for that.

      1. Thank goodness they’re getting rid of the runner on second thing. I hated it almost as much as I hate the designated hitter…and totally agree on the pitch clock. How many rituals does a pitcher need between each pitch.
