Saturday night is generally a slow night for TV. Tonight is no exception. The only big news for tonight is the return of SNL. Owen Wilson will host with Kacey Musgraves as the musical guest.
At the end of last season, there was a lot of speculation that Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson, Kate McKinnon, and Pete Davidson might all leave the show. It did seem like some of them were saying goodbye in the final episode. It turns out the long-time cast member leaving was Beck Bennett. Lauren Holt, who was a featured player, is also leaving. Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman have been promoted to repertory players and three new featured players are joining the show.
I know people love to talk about how SNL hasn’t been funny for years, but I still enjoy it. Not every skit hits, but there are still some funny moments in each show. I like Colin Jost and Michael Che in Weekend Update. I enjoy the Pete Davidson moments. I’m happy to have it back. I hope we get John Mulaney as host again this season. His episodes are the best episodes.
It was never truly hilarious, there have been misses in it’s entire run since the beginning.

I haven’t watched it in years. I don’t even remember when I last watched it. And I doubt I’ll record it so I can watch it later.

I always watch it on Sunday morning. No way I could stay up late enough to watch it live

I’ve tried to watch it over the years, but come away offended by most of their comedy. I liked it from the early years and some of the 90s, but then lost interest. Kasy Musgraves was a good pick.
