Stress On Top of Stress

We are leaving to visit family Thursday. I always have a little stress when we travel even if it just a drive like this time. Here are things that have added to this stress to make it almost unbearable.

Typing this real quick on my iPad. I guarantee there will be multiple mistakes. I don’t need anyone to point that out.

My wife tells me Thursday she was hoping to plan a trip to Cancun at the end of August.. My passport expired in early 2020 and I never bothered to renew because of the pandemic. Instead of picking a place that needs no passport or delaying to winter break, she is on the phone now to see if an expedited application could be done by then. I might have to spend the day dealing with that.

My daughter has most likely allergy symptoms and even though we can assume something not Covid related, she scheduled a test for today just to be safe. I can foresee that canceling our trip this week.

My shower is now completely clogged so I have that to deal with on top of the passport stuff.

I still have laundry to do for the trip.

All of this meant bad sleep last night.

Enough already.

  1. I had friends who travel overseas every year, except for 2020. Their passports expired and they had to expedite the renewal for a trip that’s planned this summer. It worked out for them.

  2. Beautiful post here Friend. Through the hustle and bustle of life and the desire to do everything, we end up wearing ourselves out. For stress, I recommend a few things. First, start by putting God first, and begin your day with a prayer to God and a heart for God. God is able to orchestrate several things and he can use divine assistance to make our day easier. Second, we need to treat our body like a temple. Energy giving foods are a great resource. Thirdly, we need to take little breaks every now and then to refresh. Delegate tasks as necessary, take it one day at a time (to do lists – day to day, and for the week), think on your feet and find ways to save time, it’s all in the mix.

The most important of these is God. When things get tough, we can always reach out to him for help.

The Bible says in Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”.

    God says in Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

If anyone reading is interested in building a relationship with God, I have a post on that here: https://christcenteredruminations.wordpress.com/2018/08/29/how-to-build-a-relationship-with-god/

There is much more to know about God. I post frequently on my blog about topics related to God. You are welcome to follow my blog to keep up with my content.

-All the best. May God bless you.
