A-Z Bookish Questions

Since it rained again last night and my backyard is still too wet to mow, I will spend that time answering these questions I found over on Ashley’s blog

Author You’ve Read the Most From:

I would say it is probably Stephen King. I have read all of his books. I’ve been reading him since I was a kid and I get his newest book for Christmas every year.

Best Sequel Ever:

Technically not a full sequel, but in the same universe with some of the same characters – I thought The Sicilian by Mario Puzo was .better that Godfather.

Currently Reading:

I’m reading Furia by Yamille Saied Mendez

Drink of Choice While Reading:

Coffee, though I don’t always drink something while I am reading.

E-Reader or Physical Book:

Physical book, but e books are great for travel

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated in High School:

I assume all fictional characters would be like the real people I knew in high school and not date me.

Glad You Gave This Book a Chance:

Vegan Virgin Valentine is a sparkly pink covered teen romance book and I loved it.

Hidden Gem Book:

Everyone raves about John Green but no one ever talks about what I think is his best book – Abundance of Katherines. So much better than the ones that get all of the press

Important Moment in Your Reading Life:

Hmm. Not reading really, but the day I decided to send Christopher Moore an email. It has led to new friends, special seating at events, a hat, a tshirt an lunch with him last time he was in town for a signing.

Just Finished:

The Kids are Gonna Ask by Gretchen Anthony

Kind of Books You Won’t Read:

I don’t think there are any I would refuse to read. I don’t generally read adult romance novels.

Longest Book You Read:

That’s a hard one. I’ve read a lot of very long books. Swan Song, The Stand, Pillars of the Earth, the GOT books. Too lazy to look up which one is longer.

Major Book Hangover:

This is not something I generally deal with. I guess the closest to this is when I went from The Serpent King to Gabi, A Book in Pieces

Number of Bookcases You Own:

Not sure what you count. I guess three though they are all part of one piece?

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:

I don’t re-read books. I accidentally read Practical Demonkeeping by Chris Moore twice because I forgot I had already read it until halfway through the second time.

Preferred Place to Read:

On vacation – anywhere that is away from home and away from stress

Quotes that Inspires You/Gives You All the Feels From a Book You’ve Read:

I don’t really have any of these

Reading Regret:

Taking too long to get to the point of quitting books that I don’t like. I spent way too many years finishing books even if I didn’t like them

Series You Started and Need to Finish (all books are out in series):

If I started a series that is done and have not finished I likely won’t at this point.

Three of Your All Time Favorite Books:

  • Swan Song by Robert McCammon
  • The Stand by Stephen King
  • Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

Unapologetic Fanperson For:

This said fangirl. How sexist 🙂 I would say Chris Moore books

Worst Book Habit:

Checking out too many similar books from award lists and then getting tired of them all being the same

X Marks the Spot: Start at the Top Left of Your Shelf and Pick the 27th Book:

The Shotgun Rule by Charlie Huston – great book. you should read it

Your Latest Book Purchase:

I don’t really buy books. My family buys me the new Stephen King book for Christmas. I buy Chris Moore books when they are released. Otherwise, I go to the library.

ZZZ-Snatcher Book (last book that kept you up Way Late):

I’m too old to stay up late reading books
