What’s Good in Tater Town 5/10/20

Another pandemic edition of What’s Good. Many of the items on the list will be the same as last week. Not much changes from week to week when you spend most of it in one room.

  1. We are all still healthy and employed.
  2. We’ve had some nice weather days this week.
  3. I was able to spend part of my work time outside on the deck.
  4. We were able to find beef and chicken at the grocery store.
  5. We got a glimmer of hope this week when the governor opened state parks and beaches for exercise.
  6. Surprise porch delivery from the cocktail fairy.
  7. Ledo Pizza carryout specials for dinner Friday night.
  8. Online book club with friends Friday night.
  9. Nice lazy day Saturday where I did as little as possible.

Not a bad list for a week on lockdown. If I can just focus on that an not stress about telework and how long the lockdown will last I will be OK.

  1. Sounds good to me. I think we all are experiencing that certain sameness to our days and weeks. It will end someday, but it’s best not to be in a rush. I probably won’t be out and about until fall at the rate things are going, but I’m in that special over-65 group.

    1. My life won’t change a lot when things reopen. We already generally did take out instead of dine in. I just want to be able to do book club in person and occasionally go have coffee out somewhere to break the routine.

  2. Sounds good to me. There are also plenty of positives for me. The anxiety and stress of telework is something I share. I’m going to try and approach it now positively this week.

  3. I hear you! Homeschooling and working is my biggest challenge. That and working with my team is just more difficult by phone. We are going through some genuinely big changes and it would be nice to look them in the eye!
