I still watch The Walking Dead. I know a lot of people have stopped watching it. I agree that there have been some weak storylines. but I still enjoy it. One of the complaints I’ve seen about the show is that there is too much focus on the fight between groups of humans and not enough about fighting the undead. I’ve always felt like the humans fighting humans story is very realistic. I don’t think it would even take a zombie apocalypse to get to this point. Looks at where we are today in America.
We are split along party lines. Republicans hate Democrats. Democrats hate Republicans. No one wants to try to find common ground. We are happy to fight each other to the death with no compromise.
We hate people because of their political affiliation.
We hate people because of the color of their skin.
We hate people because of who they love.
We hate people because of their religion.
We hate people because of their gender.
We hate people because of their gender identity.
We hate people because they aren’t like us and it scares us.
The world is full of hate. Why is it shocking that a world that has fallen would be full of hate and fighting?
We are the villains. We are scarier than the scariest of monsters. We always have been.
